15 years ago one would use a cell phone to remain in touch with either home or work while on the go. This enabled people to be more mobile in dealing with day to day activities. The requirement for a decent cellular unit was simple, you need to make calls and want to be contacted anytime of the day. Today, with a lot of advancements in technology one would not be content to just have a mobile phone with simple and basic communicating functions.
Companies like Nokia and Sony have stood up to the challenge by providing the consumer with a hand held device that can take the place of a personal assistant. Several functions like sending and receiving fax anywhere in the world were made possible therefore, increasing a person’s work output while being mobile. The hassles of calling your secretary was eliminated by pr viding voice or computer assistants which make managing schedule through voicemail services readily available. We can expect a lot of more services in a simple and smaller device to come our way but heavier on ones pocket. Is paying more for a better gadget good? You decide.
